about me

Philosophy | Approach: Good Fit Human to Human

You deserve to feel heard, respected, and understood. Every person brings a unique story, experiences, relationships, and perspective —they shape the conversations we have together. We'll take time to zoom out and recognize the patterns shaping your life, then identify practical actions and build the mindset and adaptability to make the changes sustainably. My goal is to help you create meaningful, lasting change that fits who you are and the life you want to build.

Bio

With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy, I have dedicated my career to understanding people within the context of their relationships, environments, and lived experiences. My training includes extensive study in family and couples therapy, ongoing consultation, and advanced clinical training in evidence-based approaches.

My work is deeply rooted in Problem Solving Brief Therapy (PSBT), which I teach, consult on, and share internationally. I believe effective therapy is not simply about applying techniques—it is about understanding each person’s unique world, strengths, relationships, and experiences. My approach has been developed by my training in postmodern, systemic and collaborative models of change and validated by research on the common factors of successful psychotherapy. I focus on building a strong therapeutic alliance while collaboratively developing practical interventions that create meaningful and sustainable change.

I studied at the Mental Research Institute (MRI) in Palo Alto for 10 years and continue to work closely with Karin Schlanger through research, teaching, consultation, and publication projects. This ongoing work keeps my practice grounded in brief, strategic, and systemic approaches to helping people create change.

My background as a yoga teacher and my study of mind-body practices also inform my approach. I view people through a compassionate, holistic, and non-pathologizing lens, recognizing that problems develop within contexts and relationships—and that patterns can be  acknowledged and transformed.

I enjoy working with individuals, couples, teens, and families who are curious and ready to create change. My experience includes supporting clients through relationship challenges, parenting struggles, anxiety, school difficulties, developmental transitions, self-harm, school refusal, disordered eating, and addiction. What distinguishes my approach is that it is practical, collaborative, and focused on creating meaningful shifts that interrupt unhelpful cycles and build lasting change.

I especially enjoy working with culturally diverse clients and those who may not connect with traditional talk therapy. Together, we identify what matters most, build on existing strengths, and create new possibilities for moving forward.
