Esther Krohner, LMFT: Transformative Therapy for Tangible Results
Welcome! I'm Esther Krohner, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a passion for guiding people towards meaningful change and empowering them to lead fulfilling lives. With a warm and candid approach, I practice Problem Solving Brief Therapy. I offer solution-driven therapy that focuses on client-centered actionable steps to improve mental health and well-being.
Background + Expertise
Hailing from the Midwest, I bring a rich understanding of family dynamics and life's ups and downs, having navigated through them in a large, quirky family. I started working with special needs kids and their families in my youth and this sparked my interest in family relationships and mental health. My journey led me to California, where I delved into yoga and psychology as tools for personal growth and resilience. At the Brief Therapy Center of the Mental Research Institute, I found my calling in a model that is flexible, respectful, and highly effective in resolving problems.
With a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's in Educational Psychology specializing in marriage and family therapy, I've honed my skills through extensive training. My qualifications include certifications in Brief Therapy, Urban Zen, and a range of modalities from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. However, I am most rooted in Problem Solving Brief therapy which I teach and consult on internationally. This model has changed my life for the better and is VERY effective. Additionally, my yoga teaching and training enhances my approach to therapy, integrating mind, body, and spirit. This holistic lens lends itself to a resilient and dynamic view of humans and the problems we encounter. My blend of looking at each human and in the broader system creates a supportive, enlivening and non-pathologizing frame for working with pain, communication and the variety of problems that bring people to therapy.
Therapeutic Approach
In our sessions, we'll explore what is causing you pain and what you aspire to change. My approach is grounded in flexibility, adapting to your unique needs, culture, and goals. Together, we'll examine past attempts at solutions, understanding how they contribute to the problem cycle. Through a systemic lens, we'll devise strategic solutions that disrupt unhelpful patterns and foster positive outcomes.
From our first meeting, we will establish where it is we want to focus. We will aim for a clear picture of how to make therapy useful. We will identify ways to promote change and interrupt the cycles that are not working for you. Whether it's addressing specific issues or enhancing overall well-being, our sessions are tailored to your aspirations and needs.
Focus and Outcome
Our therapy sessions revolve around your identified focus and desired outcomes. We'll work collaboratively to develop strategies that align with your goals, ensuring that each session brings you closer to achieving them. Whether it's improving relationships, managing stress, or enhancing self-esteem, our journey together is dedicated to tangible, transformative change.
If you're wanting a more fulfilling life, I'm here to support and guide you.Let's embark on this journey together, where empowerment and positive change await. Schedule your appointment today and let's create the future you envision.
